South Bend Redevelopment Commission <br />Regular Meeting -April 21, 2006 <br />6. NEW BUSINESS (CONT.) <br />D. South Bend Central Development Area <br />(2) Commission approval requested for <br />proposal for professional services in the <br />South Bend Central Development Area. <br />(ALTA Survey, 121 S. St. Joseph St.) <br />Ms. Laurent noted that staff has solicited <br />proposals for the completion of an ALTA <br />survey for the Commission-owned property <br />at 121 S. St. Joseph St. in anticipation of <br />disposition. The Abonmarche Group's fee is <br />$1,675; Danch Harner & Assoc.'s fee is <br />2,900-$3,300; and Wightman Petrie's fee is <br />$3,200 - $3,600. Staff recommends <br />accepting the proposal from The <br />Abonmarche Group. <br />Upon a motion by Mr. Blake, seconded by <br />Mr. Hojnacki and unanimously carried the <br />Commission approved the request for <br />proposals and accepted the proposal from <br />The Abonmarche Group for the scope of <br />services and fee proposed. <br />(3) Commission approval requested to replace <br />exhaust fans in the Leighton garage, <br />appointing the Board of Public Works as <br />the Commission's agent for quoting and <br />overseeing the project in an amount not to <br />exceed X40,000. <br />Mr. Inks noted that two of the exhaust fans in <br />the basement of the Leighton garage no <br />longer operate. They suffered corrosion from <br />winter salt. There are parking spaces in that <br />lower level. We are looking to replace them <br />with fans designed for longer life. We <br />recommend the Board of Public Works be <br />appointed the Commission's agent for <br />COMMISSION APPROVED THE REQUEST FOR <br />PROPOSALS AND ACCEPTED THE PROPOSAL FROM <br />THE ABONMARCH GROUP FOR THE SCOPE OF <br />SERVICES AND FEE PROPOSED <br />17 <br />
