South Bend Redevelopment Commission
Regular Meeting - February 02, 2001
6. NEW BUSINESS (CONT.)
f. Commission approval requested for Final
Site Plan related to the Disposition of Parcel
#5 in the Studebaker Corridor. (Main and
Sample Parcel)
Mr. Giulioni explained that Best Beef, Inc. has
acquired additional land in order to expand their
redevelopment site located at the Northwest
Corner of Main and Sample Streets. He noted
that with the additional land being added to the
site, it is necessary that the Commission approve
the revised Site Plan.
Upon a motion by Mr. Kahn, seconded by
Mr. Caldwell and unanimously carried, the
Commission approved the Final Site Plan
related to the Disposition of Parcel #5 in the
Studebaker Corridor. (Main and Sample Parcel)
g. Commission approval requested for
professional appraisal services in the Sample -
Ewing Development Area. (1010 Prairie Ave.,
known as Huckins Tool & Die)
Mr. Laurent explained that the property is in
Area A of the Studebaker /Oliver Plow Works
Redevelopment project area. He noted that the
plan calls for acquisition of the property in three
or four years; however, there is a willing seller
at this time and the appraisal will allow staff to
enter into negotiations for the acquisition of the
property. Staff has received three proposals for
the appraisal.
