South Bend Redevelopment Commission <br />Regular Meeting— August 3, 2001 <br />5. OLD BUSINESS (CONT.) <br />a. continued... <br />The staff report states that the former South Bend <br />Stamping plant and the Oliver Plow Works <br />properties, in the Studebaker Corridor portion of <br />the Sample -Ewing Development Area, are owned <br />by Allied Products Corporation. <br />Mrs. Ann Kolata asked the Commission to <br />authorize a purchase offer for the above <br />mentioned properties to Allied Products <br />Corporation in the amount of $10, and <br />authorizing the use of eminent domain if <br />agreement on price can not be reached within 30 <br />days. <br />Upon a motion by Mr. Kahn, seconded by Ms. <br />Jones and unanimously carried, the Commission <br />approved Amended Resolution No. 1837 related <br />to acquisition of property in the Sample -Ewing <br />Development Area. <br />6. NEW BUSINESS <br />Mr. Inks requested that items 6.h. and 6.i. be <br />addressed first. There was no objection and the <br />items were expedited. <br />h. Commission approval requested for <br />professional services in the South Bend <br />Central Development Area. (Appraisal of 600 <br />Niles Avenue, 529 Crescent Street, and the <br />adjacent vacant lot) <br />Mr. Mathia reported that three proposals were <br />received for appraisals of the properties at 600 <br />Niles Avenue, 529 Crescent Street, and the <br />adjacent vacant lot. The first was from Jerome E. <br />-3- <br />COMMISSION APPROVED AMENDED RESOLUTION <br />NO. 1837 RELATED TO ACQUISITION OF <br />PROPERTY IN THE SAMPLE -EWING <br />DEVELOPMENT AREA. <br />
