South Bend Redevelopment Commission <br />Regular Meeting —March 1, 2002 <br />6. NEW BUSINESS (CONT.) <br />D. Sample -Ewing Development Area <br />(1) continued... <br />in the Sample -Ewing Development Area <br />by eminent domain. (South Michigan <br />Public Facility Development) <br />(2) Commission approval requested for <br />Resolution No. 1873 related to <br />acquisition of property in the Sample - <br />Ewing Development Area by eminent <br />domain. (East Sample Development <br />Site) <br />Mr. Schalliol reported on three additional <br />properties for which the staff would like to <br />send purchase offers. The properties are <br />located on E. Sample Street between <br />Carroll and Fellows, and are adjacent to <br />properties that the Commission presently <br />owns. Two of the properties are owned by <br />New Hope Missionary Baptist Church and <br />were appraised together for a total <br />proposed purchase price of $17,000.00 for <br />both properties. <br />Mr. Hunt asked if the acquisition was <br />discussed with the church. <br />Mr. Schalliol responded that New Hope is <br />aware of the forthcoming purchase offer. <br />The third property, located on the <br />southeast corner of Carroll and Sample, is <br />owned by Burkhart Advertising, Inc. The <br />proposed purchase price is $12,675.00, the <br />average of two appraisals. Mr. Schalliol <br />14 <br />
