The agreement is intended to <br />be taken to the Board of Public Works at its <br />next meeting for ratification. The Board of <br />Public Works will be performing many of <br />the actions contemplated by this agreement. <br />The Commission has agreed by way of the <br />agreement to allow Cooreman Real Estate <br />Group the use of the name "Blackthorn" as a <br />marketing tool. <br />Mr. Faccenda requested clarification that the <br />agreement is not intended to serve as a <br />pattern for future development. <br />Ms. Greene responded that the agreement <br />with Cooreman Real Estate related to the <br />development of the Villas at Lake <br />Blackthorn and Westwood Knolls at <br />Blackthorn is very unique and is not <br />intended to set a precedent for future <br />development agreements. <br />Upon a motion by Mr. Kahn, seconded by <br />Mr. Faccenda and unanimously carried, the <br />Commission approved the Agreement by <br />and among the City of South Bend, the <br />South Bend Redevelopment Commission <br />and Cooreman Real Estate Group, Inc. <br />relating to the development commonly <br />known as Villas at Lake Blackthorn and <br />Westwood Knolls at Blackthorn. <br />B. Tax Abatement <br />(1) Commission authorization requested to <br />sign tax abatement petition on behalf of <br />Cooreman Real Estate Group, Inc. <br />15 <br />COMMISSION APPROVED THE AGREEMENT BY <br />AND AMONG THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, THE <br />SOUTH BEND REDEVELOPMENT COMMISSION <br />AND COOREMAN REAL ESTATE GROUP, INC. <br />RELATING TO THE DEVELOPMENT COMMONLY <br />KNOWN AS VILLAS AT LAKE BLACKTHORN AND <br />WESTWOOD KNOLLS AT BLACKTHORN. <br />
