only and was not a written remonstrance <br />against the TIF District or the redevelopment <br />area. <br />Mr. Inks advised State law does prescribe <br />that single family homes and duplexes are <br />excluded from the TIF District; however, <br />multi family residential is not excluded. <br />Ms. Greene advised that currently there are <br />no multi family apartment developments in <br />the proposed TIF District. <br />Ms. Greene instructed the Schindler and <br />Olson letter received on behalf of PHM be <br />incorporated within the record. <br />Mr. Hunt opened the Public Hearing on PUBLIC HEARING ON RESOLUTION No. 1928. <br />Resolution No. 1928 and asked if there was <br />anyone who wished to speak. <br />Mr. Jim Frick, President of the South <br />Gateway Association introduced himself. <br />The South Gateway Association currently <br />has 204 members in 210 locations. The <br />association has approximately 80 businesses <br />located in the proposed South Side <br />Development Area. Mr. Frick believes the <br />new development area is a tremendous <br />opportunity for South Bend and considers <br />the plan to be the stimulus for future growth. <br />The South Gateway Association is very <br />excited and is firmly behind the designation <br />of the development area. <br />Mr. Hunt asked if there was anyone else <br />who wished to speak. There being no one <br />else who wished to speak regarding <br />Resolution No. 1922, Mr. Hunt closed the <br />Public Hearing for whatever action the <br />Commission wished to take. <br />(2) Commission approval requested for <br />Resolution No. 1928. <br />c, <br />
