South Bend Redevelopment Commission <br />Regular Meeting —March 21, 2003 <br />3. APPROVAL OF CLAIMS (CONT.) <br />Upon a motion by Mr. Kahn, seconded by <br />Mr. Blake and unanimously carried, the <br />Commission approved the Claims submitted <br />March 21, 2003, and ordered the checks to be <br />released. <br />4. COMMUNICATIONS <br />There were no Communications. <br />5. OLD BUSINESS <br />A. Sample -Ewing Development Area <br />(1) Presentation of project proposals for <br />Studebaker Corridor Parcel 7 located in <br />the Sample -Ewing Development Area. <br />(Bell Parts Supply, Inc. and Ziolkowski <br />Construction, Inc.) <br />Staff advised that two (2) proposals had <br />been submitted for acquisition of Parcel 7 in <br />the Sample -Ewing Development Area: Bell <br />Parts, Inc. and Ziolkowski Construction, Inc. <br />The two bidders made presentations to the <br />Commission. <br />Mr. Dave Bell, Bell Parts Supply, Inc., gave <br />a presentation on its project proposal. Bell <br />Parts Supply, Inc. has been in its current <br />South Bend location since 1975. The <br />company sells appliance parts, parts for <br />heating and air conditioning, etc. In the <br />South Bend location, half of the business is <br />wholesale trade purchased by contractors <br />and the other half is individual retail <br />business. The South Bend location accounts <br />for approximately 20 percent of sales and <br />35 percent of profits company wide.
