5. OLD BUSINESS <br />A. South Bend Central Development Area <br />(2) continued... <br />Mr. Williams reported that two (2) proposals <br />were requested for an acquisition appraisal <br />of the former Inwoods Building located at <br />423— 425 S. Michigan Street. The proposals <br />were requested from R. E. Pitts & <br />Associates and Dave Waszak, MAI since <br />both appraisers had recently completed <br />appraisals of property immediately to the <br />west and adjacent to the subject property. <br />Both contractors indicated a completion date <br />within 3-4 weeks, and both proposals were <br />in the amount of $3,500. Two appraisals are <br />needed. Staff recommends accepting the <br />proposals from R. E. Pitts & Associates and <br />Dave Waszak, MAI. <br />Upon a motion by Ms. Jones, seconded by <br />Mr. Blake and unanimously carried, the <br />Commission approved the request for <br />professional services in the South Bend <br />Central Development Area and authorized <br />staff to retain R. E. Pitts & Associates and <br />Dave Waszak, MAI based on the scope of <br />services and fee proposed. (Appraisal <br />services, Inwoods property, Main/Western <br />Project) <br />(3) Commission approval requested for <br />proposal for professional services in the <br />South Bend Central Development Area. <br />(Survey work, Blessings Music & two (2) <br />vacant lots, Main/Western Project) <br />Mr. Williams reported that four (4) <br />proposals were requested for survey services <br />at the northeast corner of Main and Monroe <br />Streets for potential acquisition of the <br />properties.
