South Bend Central Development Area <br />(4) continued.... <br />Mr. Mathia noted that the survey firm of <br />Danch, Hamer & Associates was contracted <br />by the Redevelopment Commission to <br />complete the survey work to replat a parcel <br />of land to be transferred from the Hall of <br />Fame for the Chocolate Cafe Expansion <br />Project. As part of the replat review process, <br />the Department of Public Works has <br />requested Danch, Hamer to complete a field <br />inspection for utilities that may be located <br />under or near the proposed addition. Danch, <br />Hamer has provided a quote not to exceed <br />$600 for the additional services. In addition <br />staff would like Danch Hamer to assist with <br />preparation of the site plan for the project <br />area. The additional cost for this service is <br />estimated to be $750. This service may be <br />necessary to design a site plan that will meet <br />Fire Department requirements for fire truck <br />access to the site. This concern was recently <br />voiced by the Fire Department. <br />The Commission has already approved an <br />amount not to exceed $4,250 for the survey <br />and preliminary site plan work. The two <br />proposed increases total $1,350. With these <br />increases the new not -to- exceed amount for <br />the contract would be $5,600. Staff <br />recommends approving the proposals from <br />Danch, Hamer for additional work related to <br />the proposed expansion of the Chocolate <br />Cafe. <br />IL 23 <br />
