South Bend Redevelopment Commission <br />Regular Meeting —June 6, 2003 <br />6. NEW BUSINESS <br />B. South Bend Central Development Area <br />(1) continued.... <br />Staff recommends accepting the offer from <br />Grauvogel and Associates. <br />Upon a motion by Mr. Kahn, seconded by <br />Ms. Jones and unanimously carried, the <br />Commission approved the request for <br />proposals in the South Bend Central <br />Development Area and authorized staff to <br />retain Grauvogel and Associates based on <br />the scope of services and fee proposed. <br />Mr. Mathia asked that item 6.B.(7) be <br />considered at this point on the agenda. There <br />IL were no objections and the item was moved up <br />on the agenda. <br />(7) Commission approval requested for <br />Letter of Intent to rent retail space in the <br />South Bend Central Development Area. <br />(Palais Royale Building) <br />Mr. Mathia noted that the staff originally <br />intended to ask the Commission to table this <br />item, but Mr. Makielski is present at the <br />meeting and would like the opportunity to <br />make a presentation at this time. <br />Mr. Mathia noted that David Makielski <br />would like to rent the Palais Royale retail <br />space for an art gallery and to relocate his art <br />supply store to this space. (Mr. Makielski <br />made the following presentation) <br />Mr. Makielski apologized that he did not <br />have a formal presentation ready for the <br />16 <br />COMMISSION APPROVED THE REQUEST FOR <br />PROPOSALS IN THE SOUTH BEND CENTRAL <br />DEVELOPMENT AREA AND AUTHORIZED STAFF <br />TO RETAIN GRAUVOGEL AND ASSOCIATES BASED <br />ON THE SCOPE OF SERVICES AND FEE PROPOSED. <br />
