LN
L
14
South Bend Redevelopment Commission
Regular Meeting— September 5, 2003
6. NEW BUSINESS
A. South Bend Central Development Area
(2) continued...
Mr. Williams reported that when Leighton
Plaza Parking Garage was built in 1999, a
Parking Agreement between Memorial
Health & Lifestyle Center (MH &L) and the
City of South Bend Department of
Redevelopment was executed reserving 217
spaces of specified parking for MH &L. Due
to a review of parking needs back in March
2003, that number was reduced to 190
spaces. At the request of Memorial Health
& Lifestyle, an additional review was
conducted and the need for reserved spaces
was further reduced to 167 spaces. MH &L
pays for the spaces reserved for it. The
amendment reduces the number of spaces
assigned to MH &L and the fee they will pay.
Upon a motion by Mr. Kahn, seconded by
Ms. Jones and unanimously carried, the
Commission approved the First Amendment
to Parking Agreement between the
Memorial Health & Lifestyle Center and the
City of South Bend Department of
Redevelopment.
(3) Commission approval requested for
proposal for professional services in the
South Bend Central Development Area.
(Topographical map /Chocolate Cafe)
Mr. Mathia reported that the lease
amendment permitting construction of the
addition to the Chocolate Caf6 has been
signed.
