South Bend Redevelopment Commission <br />Regular Meeting— September 19, 2003 <br />6. NEW BUSINESS <br />J. Other <br />(1) continued... <br />City's appeal of the INDOT design currently <br />approved for State Road 23 between <br />Twyckenham and Eddy Street. This falls <br />within the Northeast Neighborhood for <br />which a redevelopment area plan is currently <br />being drafted. The letter also expresses <br />support for an alternative plan for this road <br />which is a four lane boulevard effect and an <br />extension of the right -of -way to ninety (90) <br />feet. <br />Mr. Hunt asked if the plan had the support <br />of the Neighborhood Association. <br />Ms. Hughes confirmed that it does. <br />There being no questions by the <br />Commission members, Mr. Hunt advised <br />that he would sign the Letter of Support for <br />appeal to Mayor Luecke on behalf of the <br />Redevelopment Commission. <br />( INDOT State Road 23 expansion) <br />7. PROGRESS REPORTS <br />Mr. Rock reported that Phase II of the Bosch Project <br />has been completed and the start of Phase III is <br />underway. Mr. Case added that Phase III is <br />anticipated to be completed by March 2004. The <br />Contract has been awarded to The Robert Henry <br />Corporation. The demolition project is estimated to <br />be approximately $826,000 for a building on the <br />south side of the original plant. <br />20 <br />MR. HUNT ADVISED THAT HE WOULD SIGN THE <br />LETTER OF SUPPORT FOR APPEAL TO MAYOR <br />LUECKE ON BEHALF OF THE REDEVELOPMENT <br />COMMISSION.
