Public Hearings <br />(3) continued... <br />Ms. Greene again advised that Resolution <br />No. 2021 confirms the Northeast <br />Neighborhood Development Area is deemed <br />to be blighted and will make way for <br />opportunity of redevelopment within the <br />area. There are no acquisitions of property <br />contemplated at this time. <br />Mr. Rock advised that the Public Hearing <br />file was complete and requested the <br />following items be entered into the <br />record: (1) Copy of the Notice of Hearing; <br />(2) Copy of Resolution No. 2021; <br />AOKI (3) Affidavits from the Tri County News and <br />South Bend Tribune that the Notice of <br />Public Hearing was published in those <br />newspapers on December 5, 2003; <br />(4) Statement from staff that affected <br />property owners, registered neighborhood <br />associations and taxing units were notified; <br />and (5) As of 10:00 a.m. this morning, no <br />written remonstrances were received. <br />Ms. Hughes reported that the proposed <br />Northeast Neighborhood Development Area <br />is approximately 616 acres, situated between <br />the University of Notre Dame campus and <br />the Central Business District. Included in <br />the Development Area Plan are two (2) <br />maps depicting the boundaries of the Area, <br />which extend from the St. Joseph River and <br />Niles Avenue on the west to Twyckenham <br />Drive on the east, and from Napoleon and <br />the current South Bend City limit on the <br />north to LaSalle on the south. <br />26 <br />
