5. Request to Ratify a Letter from Director St. Clair to the Board of Zoning Appeals <br /> Authorizing John Werntz to Represent the Park Board Regarding Variances for a <br /> Parcel of Land in Voorde Park(Parcel 018-2184-693820) <br /> Director St. Clair requested the Board approve the sending of a letter to the Board of Zoning <br /> Appeals that authorizes Mr. John Werntz to represent the Park Board regarding variances for a <br /> parcel of land in Voorde Park. <br /> Mr. Mullins made a motion ratifying the sending of the letter. Dr. Kelly seconded the <br /> motion and it was passed. <br /> 6. Request to Approve an Addendum to the Agreement with the Weed and Seed Alliance- <br /> Chris Dressel <br /> Mr. Dressel requested the Board approve a revision of the contract ratified at last month's <br /> meeting with the Weed and Seed Alliance. The revision changes who pays for the <br /> computers used in the program. <br /> Dr. Kelly made a motion approving the revised contract. Mr. Mullins seconded the motion <br /> and it was passed. <br /> 7. Request to Suspend Fees for O'Brien Skate Park- Susan O'Connor <br /> Ms. O'Connor requested that the fees for the O'Brien Skate Park be suspended. Because <br /> of the increased number free skate parks in the area since the opening of the O'Brien Skate <br /> Park and declining use, she felt it was in the best interest of the park to open it to free usage. She <br /> discussed changes in operations. <br /> Dr. Kelly made a motion to approve the request to suspend the fees for use of the O'Brien <br /> Skate Park. Mr. Mullins seconded the motion and it was passed. <br /> 8. Request to Open and Award Quotes for Sidewalk Construction and Court Repairs- <br /> Mike Dyszkiewicz <br /> Mr. Dyszkiewicz opened three sealed quotes for a sidewalk at the Chris Wilson <br /> Pavilion. They were- <br /> a. Northern Indiana Construction- $11,550 <br /> b. LL Geans- $10,820 <br /> c. Ziolowkowski- $13,750 <br /> Northern Indiana Construction's quote did not include a nondiscrimination affidavit. <br /> Also,there were three sealed quotes for a sidewalk in LaSalle Park- <br /> a. Northern Indiana Construction- $15,775 <br /> b. LL Geans- $14,996 <br /> c. Ziolowkowski-base - $7,700,prep- $7,000,with concrete- $24,800, for <br /> driveway- $17,800 <br /> There was some confusion on Ziolokowski's quote. <br /> Mr. Dyszkiewicz opened three sealed quotes for asphalt repairs. The were as follows- <br /> a. Al Striping-No bid was offered <br /> b. Huyser Asphalt- <br /> c. Arnt Aspalt- <br /> A total price for all locations was not given by either vendor. The locations were <br /> read by Mr. Bodnar and Mr. Dyszkiewicz., along with some alternates. Mr. <br /> Dyszkiewicz asked to review the quotes and report later in the meeting. <br /> - -3 - - <br />
