XI. Comments by Development Director <br /> 1. Mr. Payton explained that we will be advertising and marketing at the Silver Hawk <br /> games this season. <br /> 2. Fox 28 has signed on as the media sponsor for the Blues Fest. <br /> 3. Billboards will be put up in three weeks. They will be partially funded with a grant <br /> from the Convention and Visitor's Bureau. <br /> 4. Online registrations are going well. <br /> XH. Comments by the Zoo Director <br /> 1. Mr. DeRosa reported that Zoo Staff have been doing safety drills. <br /> 2. Seasonal staff is being hired. <br /> 3. The Zoo's USDA permit has been renewed. <br /> 4. Media spots have been done over the last month regarding the otter exhibit and the <br /> green roof. <br /> 5. The new veterinarian will be starting June 13. <br /> 6. The USDA did an unannounced inspection and there were no violations found. <br /> XIH.
