South Side Development Area <br />(3) continued... <br />Upon a motion by Mr. Hunt, seconded by <br />Mr. Kahn and unanimously carried, the <br />Commission approved the request for <br />professional services in the South Side <br />Development Area and authorized staff to <br />retain Meridian Title Corporation based on <br />the scope of services and fee proposed. <br />H. Northeast Neighborhood Development Area <br />There was no business in the Northeast <br />Neighborhood Development Area. <br />I. Other <br />qw� (1) Commission approval requested for <br />counter offer related to acquisition of <br />property located at 23977 Brick Road <br />contingent upon completion of annexation <br />into the City of South Bend and <br />expansion of the Airport Economic <br />Development Area. <br />Mr. Schalliol reported that staff received a <br />counter offer of $136,000 to the original <br />offer of $134,000 made May 21, 2004, to <br />acquire the property located at 23977 Brick <br />Road. The counter offer is equal to the <br />higher of the two appraisals used to establish <br />the offering price. Since this counter offer is <br />within the framework of the policy <br />established for voluntary acquisition, staff <br />requests approval of the counter offer. The <br />counter offer will be contingent upon the <br />successful annexation and inclusion of the <br />L 14 <br />COMMISSION APPROVED THE REQUEST FOR <br />PROFESSIONAL SERVICES IN THE SOUTH SIDE <br />DEVELOPMENT AREA AND AUTHORIZED STAFF <br />TO RETAIN MERIDIAN TITLE CORPORATION <br />BASED ON THE SCOPE OF SERVICES AND FEE <br />PROPOSED. <br />THERE WAS NO BUSINESS IN THE NORTHEAST <br />NEIGHBORHOOD DEVELOPMENT AREA. <br />
