South Bend Redevelopment Commission <br />r Regular Meeting — December 3, 2004 <br />6. NEW BUSINESS (CONT.) <br />E. Airport Economic Development Area <br />(1) Staff report on acquisition of property in <br />the Airport Economic Development Area. <br />(Vanderheyden Technologies) <br />Mr. Schalliol noted that Vanderheyden <br />Technologies has submitted a counter offer <br />for property located at 1743 Commerce <br />Drive. The Commission's original offer for <br />the property was $424,500. The counter <br />offer is $443,118. Staff recommends <br />accepting the counter offer contingent on <br />completion of a Phase I environmental <br />survey. <br />Upon a motion by Mr. Hunt, seconded by <br />Mr. King and unanimously carried, the <br />IL Commission accepted the counter offer from <br />Vanderheyden Technologies in the amount of <br />$443,118 for property located at 1743 <br />Commerce Drive, contingent on completion <br />of a Phase I environmental survey. <br />(2) Commission approval requested to <br />authorize execution of a Lease for golf <br />carts to be used at the Blackthorn Golf <br />Course in the Airport Economic <br />Development Area. <br />Mr. Inks noted that Blackthorn Golf Course <br />has leased its golf carts through the City's <br />capital improvement program for the last six <br />years. That lease has expired. The City's <br />financial office advised Meadowbrook Golf <br />to seek quotes and solicit a lease going <br />forward. The current proposal is for a four - <br />year lease. Quotes were received from two <br />qualified firms. Easy -Go has been selected <br />at a total cost for four years of $208,710 <br />9 <br />COMMISSION ACCEPTED THE COUNTER OFFER <br />FROM VANDERHEYDEN TECHNOLOGIES IN THE <br />AMOUNT OF $443,118 FOR PROPERTY LOCATED <br />AT 1743 COMMERCE DRIVE, CONTINGENT ON <br />COMPLETION OF A PHASE I ENVIRONMENTAL <br />SURVEY. <br />
