South Bend Redevelopment Commission <br />Regular Meeting — February 4, 2005 <br />4. COMMUNICATIONS <br />There were no Communications. <br />5. OLD BUSINESS <br />A. Commission approval requested for Letter of <br />Engagement from Crowe Chizek and Company, <br />LLC to perform financial advisory services <br />related to the proposed Erskine Village <br />Development Project. <br />Mr. Inks reported that staff is in the process of <br />working on an EDC bond of approximately $6M. <br />The Redevelopment Commission has previously <br />taken actions to allocate TIF as a funding source for <br />bond repayment. Staff requests approval for the <br />Crowe Chizek Letter of Engagement. <br />Mr. King requested the following Abstention <br />%1� Statement be included in the record: <br />I will abstain from voting on the request for <br />Redevelopment Commission approval of a Letter of <br />Engagement from Crowe, Chizek and Company, <br />LL to perform financial advisory services related <br />to the proposed Erskine Village Project. <br />I worked at Crowe Chizek for 33 years and retired <br />on April], 1999. I am currently receiving <br />retirement payments from Crowe Chizek; and I am <br />able to participate in a Crowe Chizek medical <br />insurance program for which I pay the entire <br />premium. In light of these circumstances and so <br />that there is no hint of impropriety, I will abstain <br />from voting on the Letter of Engagement from <br />Crowe, Chizek and Company. <br />However, for the avoidance of doubt, I want to state <br />that I do not have any ownership interest in Crowe <br />Chizek and I am not in any way employed by Crowe <br />Chizek. <br />A <br />THERE WERE NO COMMUNICATIONS <br />
