South Bend Redevelopment Commission <br />Regular Meeting — September 2, 2005 <br />6. NEW BUSINESS (CONT.) <br />D. South Bend Central Development Area <br />(1) continued... <br />Michigan property. The proposed <br />improvements are also in keeping with the <br />South Bend Central Development Area <br />Redevelopment Plan. The plans necessitate <br />his application to the Board of Public Works <br />for a permanent encroachment into the alley. <br />The contract proposals on the Commission's <br />agenda are for some initial site work, namely <br />removing four trees, grinding stumps, and <br />grading the Columbus Court site between <br />Woodward Court and Michigan Street. <br />Staff has obtained quotes from Acorn <br />Landscaping in the amount of $2,190 and <br />Heritage Valley Nursey and Landscape in the <br />amount of $7,500. Staff recommends the <br />Commission authorize the initial site <br />preparation work to begin and accept the <br />proposal from Acorn Landscaping, <br />authorizing funding up to $2,500 to cover <br />any contingencies. <br />Upon a motion by Downes, seconded by Mr <br />Hojnacki and unanimously carried, the <br />Commission approved the request for <br />proposals for landscaping improvements in <br />the South Bend Central Development Area <br />and accepted the proposal from Acorn <br />Landscaping LLC for the scope of services <br />and fee not to exceed $2,500. <br />(2) Filing of Resolution No. 2185 amending <br />the South Bend Central Development Area <br />Development Plan. <br />C <br />9 <br />COMMISSION APPROVED THE REQUEST FOR <br />PROPOSALS FOR LANDSCAPING IMPROVEMENTS <br />IN THE SOUTH BEND CENTRAL DEVELOPMENT <br />AREA AND ACCEPTED THE PROPOSAL FROM <br />ACORN LANDSCAPING LLC FOR THE SCOPE OF <br />SERVICES AND FEE NOT TO EXCEED $2,500. <br />
