He noted the grant requires a public review at a public meeting
to be able to ask questions or make comments. Ms. Vasquez asked what the grant money
would be used for. Chief Walters stated the Police Department will use the money to fund
new video camera systems in patrol cars. Ms. Vasquez asked if the system will download
directly to the mobile units. Chief Walters stated they will have to take out the flash drives
and install them at the Police Station for now. Once wireless is installed, the patrol cars will
be able to pick up the connection within a short distance from the station.
Approve Extended Medical Leave
Mr. Bodnar asked if the time off requested will be enough for full recovery for Patrolman
James Taylor. Chief Walters stated it will be enough time to get back to restricted duty. He
stated the injury is a result of a car crash that damaged Patrolman Taylor's knee.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business to come before the Board, Mr. Cottrell declared the meeting
adjourned at 8:18 a.m.
BOARD OF PUBLIC SAFETY
Juanita Dempsey, ;President
Patrick D.
