South Bend Redevelopment Commission <br />Regular Meeting —August 17, 2007 <br />6. NEW BUSINESS (CANT) <br />A. South Bend Central Development Area <br />(1) continued... <br />Today, staff' requests approval of Its work <br />plan. Not approval for a budget, but <br />agrecment' about where staff should use its <br />resources. This is a work plan for 2007 <br />through 2009. <br />Mr. Gibney reminded Commissioners that ill <br />the budget for downtown TIF there are ft ni s <br />that are already in process, for example, <br />there is a developer .interested in the old <br />St debal er Administration Building. The <br />city's involvement and a potential TI ` <br />investment is to constrLIet a parking lot <br />adjacent to that building once the cuiTe .t <br />owner ma.l es a substantial investment in the <br />facade. <br />We have already commItted to spend TIF on <br />the h.].storlc fa ade at 101 N. Mi chi ga.n, the <br />All American Plaza. <br />The city has committed TI ' funds to the <br />l ey ank project by improving the plaza at <br />the southeast corner of Jefferson and <br />Michigan. <br />The city has reserved funds for a parking <br />garage at the comer of St. Joseph and <br />Jefferson. We hope to have a proposal at the <br />next meeting for a hotel at that site. <br />We are proceeding with the first phase of a <br />comprehensive and strategic plan for the East <br />Bank phase 1. These are projects that are <br />already committed to that are included in this <br />strategy, TIC' budget and presentation. <br />n <br />on <br />
