Neighborhood Development Area <br />(1) continued ;.. <br />district at Edison Road and Eddy (C -1); two <br />residential districts to the east and south (R -2 <br />and R -3) offering attached housing (e.g., <br />condominiums, rowhomes and townlzomes) to <br />the general public; and n residential <br />districtin the area now known as the <br />"Triangle" (T -5) with single-family detached <br />homes and duplexes, 30% of which will be <br />offered as affordable housing and the <br />remainder offered to the general market. <br />The University of Notre Dame has assumed <br />two key roles in this process: assembling the <br />land necessary for zones GI and R -3, and <br />engaging u private developer to undertake <br />the risk and effort of the development. The <br />NNRQ, with South Bend Heritage <br />Foundation acting as its agent, has assumed <br />similar roles for the Triangle. After cc <br />lengthy and competitive process, the <br />University has chosen Kite Realty Group out <br />of Indianapolis, to be its development partner <br />for the three zones, and Kite has proven to be <br />a skilled and collaborative partner.
