South Bend Redevelopment Conuynission <br />Special Meeting —June I, 2007 <br />2. NEW BUSINESS <br />A. Airport Economic Development Area <br />(1) continued. Q 0 <br />Mr. wit -ver noted that Resolution No. 2348 <br />as it was distributed did not contain the new <br />legal descriptions prepared for this purpose. <br />Those are now available. Resolution No. <br />2348 needs to be amended to include the new <br />legal descriptions. He also asked the <br />Commission to authorize advertising for <br />public hearing on the confirming resolution <br />on July 6. <br />Ms. Jones acknowledged the large number of <br />people in attendance, some of whom were <br />there to support this resolution. Although the <br />public hearing on the expansion of the <br />Airport Economic Development Area won't <br />be until July 6, after approval by the Area <br />Plan Commission and the Common Councit, <br />she offered an opportunity for anyone to <br />speak at this time regarding Resolution <br />No. 2348. <br />Ms. Wolfson: I have been working with the <br />Community Forum for Economic <br />Development and participated with Charlotte <br />Pfeifer and other members of neighborhood <br />organizations in LaSalle Square in writing up <br />a short plan that was really a concept or <br />proposal of what that area could look lire. <br />At that point we were concerned about that <br />area of town because it had been severer <br />impacted by previous development decisions, <br />particularly development in the <br />Portage /Cleveland area, The further <br />deterioration of that neighborhood was very <br />unfortunate.
