(15.1) Cupola- A dome shaped roof on a circular base, often set on the ridge of a roof <br /> (15.2) Decorative Fence—A fence made of metal or wood with open areas representing <br /> not less than 75% of the fence area. Chain link,barbed wire or similar style <br /> fences shall not be considered decorative. <br /> (15.3) Decorative Wall—A wall made of brick, split-face block, or other decorative <br /> masonry material. Plain concrete block shall not be considered decorative. <br /> (16) Dormer- A vertically set window on a sloping roof; the roofed structure housing <br /> such a window. <br /> (17) Eaves - The projecting overhang at the lower edge of a roof <br /> (18) Egress - An exit. <br /> (19) Flat Roof- A roof that has no perceptible pitch or slope. <br /> (20) Fenestration - The arrangement of windows in a wall. <br /> (21) Gable - A triangular wall segment at the end of a double pitched or gabled roof. <br /> (22) Gambrel - A ridged roof with two slopes on each side, the lower slope having the <br /> steeper pitch. <br /> (23) Hipped Roof- A roof with four uniformly pitched sides. <br /> (24) Ingress - An access or entry point. <br /> (25) Lintels - A beam supporting the weight above a door or window opening. <br /> (26) Mansard Roof- A roof that has two slopes on all four sides. <br /> (27) Masonry- Wall construction of materials such as stone, brick and adobe. <br /> (28) Modern Style—The style of architecture commonly referred to by architects, and <br /> in North American architectural literature, as "Modern" or "Modernistic".
