o�.on v. ..r�ar� �..�n�ir_ <br /> � BYpass <br /> � For the pumoses of this Section, <br /> � B�pass means the intentional diversion of wastestreams <br /> from an�portion of a User's treatment facility. <br /> � Severe propertv dama�e means substantial physical dama�e <br /> to property damag�e to the treatment facilities which causes them to <br /> become inoperable or substantial and permanent loss of natural <br /> resources which can reasonablv be expected to occur in the absence <br /> of a bypass Severe pro�erty dama�e does not mean economic loss <br /> caused b�delays in production. <br /> � A User may allow an� bypass to occur which does not cause <br /> Pretreatment Standards or Requirements to be violated, but only if it also <br /> is for essential maintenance to assure efficient operation. These bvpasses <br /> are not subiect to the provisions of para raphs (3) and�4) of this Section. <br /> � Bvpass Notifications <br /> � If a User knows in advance of the need for a bypass, it shall <br /> submit prior notice to the Director at least ten (10) davs before the <br /> date of the bypass, if possible. <br /> � A User shall submit oral notice to the Director of an <br /> unanticipated �pass that exceeds applicable Pretreatment <br /> Standards within twent -fy our (24) hours from the time it becomes <br /> aware of the bxpass. A written submission shall also be provided <br /> within five (5) days of the time the User becomes aware of the <br /> b�pass. The written submission shall contain a description of the <br /> �� bvpass and its cause• the duration of the bypass, includin exact <br /> dates and times and if the bvpass has not been corrected, the <br /> anticipated time it is ex�ected to continue; and steps taken or <br /> planned to reduce eliminate and vrevent reoccurrence of the <br /> �pass. The Director may waive the written report on a case-by- <br /> case basis if the oral report has been received within twenty-four <br /> 24 hours. <br /> � �pass Prohibition <br /> � B_ypass is prohibited, and the Director may take an <br /> 66 <br />
