City of South Bend <br />William and Lafayette Two -Way Conversion <br />December 7, 2009 <br />Page 2 of 5 <br />SCOPE OF SERVICES <br />TASK 1- PROJECT MANAGEMENT <br />This task will include overall project management for the tasks listed below. In addition, three <br />meetings with the City are included to discuss the project as needed and to discuss the results <br />of the study. <br />TASK 2 - TOPOGRAPHIC SURVEY <br />A. FIELD SURVEY (LAFAYETTE BLVD. LIMITS) <br />A limited topographic survey will be performed in the area. The survey will be limited to the <br />geometric locations at intersections where GIS data is not clear: <br />• South limit - South Street and Lafayette Blvd. intersection. <br />• North limit - Madison Street and Lafayette Blvd. intersection. <br />• Extreme limits - Existing travel portion of roadway <br />• Location of manholes as needed <br />B. TOPOGRAPHIC FIELD SURVEY (WILLIAM STREET LIMITS) <br />A limited topographic survey will be performed in the area. The survey will be limited to the <br />geometric locations at intersections where GIS data is not clear: <br />• South limit - The dead end of William Street at Coveleski Stadium. <br />• North limit - William Street and Madison Street intersection. <br />• Extreme limits - Existing travel portion of roadway <br />• Location of manholes as needed <br />Property lines will be based upon City /County GIS Data. <br />In addition to the above, limited topographic information for intersections where the existing <br />grade may be a concern will also be collected to determine the existing pavement cross slopes. <br />These areas will need to be identified by the City and WP staff prior to starting the survey <br />component of the project. <br />TASK 3 - DATA COLLECTION <br />This task will consist of the necessary data collection to perform the required analyses to <br />complete the corridor study. The data collection items anticipated and included in this fee <br />proposal are as follows: <br />1. 12 -hour (6 am to 6 pm) intersection turning movement counts for all intersections within <br />the proposed corridor study area. 12 -hour counts will be necessary to perform the <br />requested traffic signal warrant analyses at the study area intersections. The general <br />study area includes a total of 17 intersections, and is generally as described below: <br />• William Street from Western Ave. to Lincolnway <br />• Lafayette Blvd. from South St. to one block north of Lincolnway <br />
