REGULAR MEETINGFEBRUARY 28, 2005 <br />Councilmember Puzzello, Chairperson, Community and Economic Development <br />Committee, reported that this committee held a Public Hearing on this bill this afternoon <br />and voted to send it to the full Council with a favorable recommendation. <br />Ms. Beth Leonard, Director Financial & Program Management, Department of <br />th <br />Community & Economic Development, 12 Floor, County-City Building, South Bend, <br />Indiana, made the presentation for this bill. <br />Ms. Leonard advised that this bill will appropriate $155,000 of Urban Development <br />Action Grant reimbursement funds for Predevelopment costs for pending development <br />projects within the City. Predevelopment costs include such items as market studies, <br />appraisals, preliminary site plans, surveys, title work, and environmental studies which <br />are necessary to determine the feasibility of a project and determine whether it can or <br />should proceed. <br />This being the time heretofore set for the Public Hearing on the above bill, proponents <br />and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard <br />There being no one present wishing to speak to the Council either in favor of or in <br />opposition to this bill, Councilmember Kirsits made a motion for favorable <br />recommendation to full Council concerning this bill.
