494f 17) Medical. Wastes, except as specifically authorized, by the <br />Director. <br />1$ Wastewater causing, alone or in conjunction with other sources the <br />POTW's effluent to fail a toxicit y test. <br />(1-7) 19 Materials which exert or cause: <br />a. Unusual concentrations of inert S.S. (such as, but not <br />limited to, Fullers earth, lime slurries and lime residues) or <br />of dissolved solids (such as, but not limited to, sodium <br />chloride and sodium sulfate). <br />b. Excessive discoloration (such as, but not limited to, dye <br />wastes and vegetable tanning solutions). <br />C. Unusual S.S., CBOD, BOD, ammonia- nitrogen, <br />phosphorus, or chlorine requirements in such quantities as <br />to constitute a significant load on the sewage treatment <br />works. <br />d. Unusual volume of flow or concentration of wastes <br />constituting "slugs," as defined herein. <br />(P4 fLO) Waters or wastes containing substances which are not amenable <br />to treatment or reduction by the sewage treatment processes employed, or <br />are amenable to treatment only to such degree that the sewage treatment <br />plant effluent will be compromised. <br />(1-9) fLIJ It shall be unlawful for any person to place, deposit, permit to be <br />deposited, or discharged in any manner whatsoever, any substance into a <br />sewer at a point different than the proposed sewer connection to the <br />sanitary sewer system. <br />(d) Categorical Pretreatment Standards. Users must coin I with the categorical <br />Pretreatment Standards found at 40CFR Chapter I Subchapter N parts 405 -471 <br />and with the State of Indiana Pretreatment Standards as defined at 327 IAC 5 -16 <br />through 327 IAC 5 to 21, as well as any Local Limits which the Director is <br />authorized to establish pursuant to 40CFR 403 403.5(c) and any subsequent State, <br />Federal or Local guidelines and Rules and Regulations The Director may <br />develop Best Management Practices BMP's by.. ordinance or in individual <br />wastewater discharge ermits to implement local limits and the requirements of <br />this Division. The National Cate orical Pretreatment Standards State <br />Pretreatment Standards, and Local Limits are subject to the following restrictions <br />and prescriptions: <br />22 <br />
