V. Approval of Minutes <br /> Mr. Mullins made a motion to approve the minutes of the regular Board meeting held on <br /> January 17, 2011 as mailed. The motion was seconded by Dr. Kelly and approved. <br /> V1. Approval of Maintenance Vouchers <br /> A motion was made by Dr. Kelly to approve maintenance vouchers for January 2011 <br /> totaling $689,665.84. <br /> It was seconded by Mr. Mullins. There being no further discussion,the motion was passed. <br /> VII. Business of Director St. Clair <br /> 1. Director St. Clair reported that he has been talking with Notre Dame regarding <br /> upgrading the boat house they have in Viewing Park along the river. <br /> 2. He said he would be meeting with Bill Schalliol regarding site location for Miracle <br /> Park. The complex would have two hard surface baseball/softball fields and two <br /> natural turf fields. <br /> 3. A Blues and Ribs Festival is planned for next June as a fund raiser for the Miracle <br /> Park project. Three nationally know bands will be playing. <br /> VIII. Comments by the Golf Operations Director <br /> 1. Mr.Nowacki reported that his staff is preparing for the upcoming season. <br /> 2. Peerless Midwest is exploring the problem with the wells at Elbel and will submit a <br /> proposal to correct the problems they are having. <br /> 3. A new concessions manager has been hired for Erskine. <br /> 4. The annual open house will be held March 5 at the Erskine Clubhouse. <br /> IX. Comments by the Zoo Director <br /> 1. Winter day was recently held and 758 participated. <br /> 2. Interviews for the veterinarian position will take place next Thursday and Friday. <br /> 3. The green roof contractors will be at the Zoo next Thursday to discuss the <br /> educational component. <br /> 4. The USDA permit was recently received for the purchase of butterflies this spring. <br /> 5. The new anesthesia machine was delivered and a dental machines has been ordered. <br /> 6. Zoo maintenance is doing inspection for the season. <br /> Director St. Clair mentioned that he would like to sit down with the Zoo Society <br /> prior to the next meeting to discuss the memorandum of understanding. <br /> X. Comments by the Recreation Director <br /> 1. Ms. O'Connor reported thirty vendors will participate in this Saturday's Camp Fair. <br /> 2. The Daddy Daughter dance was held February 8 and 1,039 attended. <br /> 3. The Charles Black Center held a Valentine's Jazz Breakfast and 78 attended. <br /> - - 4 - - <br />
