265 <br />5 <br />Tue s c1 a V Une 2nd. ,19. <br />Board met in regular session at 10:00 A.M. All members present. <br />Bids were received, opened and read for pavement on Cedar Street from <br />Emerick Street to Eddy Street., under Improvement Resolution No. 295. 'The same was refered <br />to the City, Civil Engireer for tabulation. <br />Biers we're received for concrete floors for Hose houses Nos. 5 and,6. The <br />sane were opened and referred to the City Engineer for tabulation. <br />Report of the City Cemetery Sexton was read and placed on file. <br />The , City Civil Engineer filed the follovUiing report. <br />To the Hon. Board of Public- Works, <br />of the. City of South Bend, Indiana. <br />Gent "l emen: — <br />I herewith submit the estimated cost of the pipe sewer improverlent.in Donald <br />Street from Witwer Avenue to Michigan Street at ................................ 53.30 <br />Respectfully submitted, <br />W. S.NOORE.. <br />City Engineer. <br />Board decided to rent Mr. Joseph Vrill T U land for the depositing of nigat <br />soil at t�r1e rate of $10.00 per month. The Board reserves the right to discontinue <br />the use of same with a thirty day notice. <br />Petition received from the property owners on Vistula Avenue between.- - <br />Ernsberger Street and Sample Street soliciting the Board to have a five foot sidewalk. <br />placed along Vistula A venue between the above mentioned points, and also to clean upn <br />rubbish on said Vistula Avenue. The Clty Attorney was instructed to write to the Chicago, <br />South Bend & Northern Indiana Ry. Company to complete such work by October 13th. ,1914. <br />according to their franchise with the City. <br />The City Attorney was instructed to notify the Chicago, Lake Shore & <br />J South Bend Ry. Company that a strict compliance with the Ordinance in regard to thgelayin.g <br />of the pavement between their tracks and the removal of their track on Colfax Avenue. <br />Petition received , read and referred to the City Engineer for a pipe <br />sewer -on Portage Avenue from Kinyon Street to River View Cemetery . The ..same was ordered <br />set for a hearing. <br />The following petition was received from the River Park Civic Association <br />in regard to a pole which stands almost in the center of the sidewalk on the soutii side of <br />Nall Street, where the alley intersects said street, between Sixth Street and Seventh <br />Street. People who use the street regard it as an obstruction and somewhat dangerous since <br />the cerient sidewalk has been constructed. The Pole and wire inspector z•eported this to be <br />a Home Tel. Company pole and should be removed to the corner of lalmn and set inside of the <br />curb, also have all poles marked..- The Board vpproved of same. <br />The Board ordered the Street Commissioner to purchase the years supply' of <br />Brooms from the Studebaker Corporation at $10.00 each. <br />The Board decided to purchase two wagons for the Street Department. <br />Specifications and blueprint for the —floors in the Hose houses No. 5 &nd <br />6 were presented to the Board and riled. <br />President. <br />
