Bchort- <br /> emeier, for his co-operation with these three organizations when he <br /> was in office, and explained how P,2r. Sohortemeier had labored to enforoe <br /> Uniform Traffic Code. He then praised and introduced �r. Otto G. <br /> Fi�ield, present Secretary o� State. I��r. Fi�ield reviewed �he atate- <br /> ment of the gentleman preeeding him and explained his personal views <br /> in the matter, atating that i� these organizations eould be responsib le <br /> for enacting sueh a code, it would be a wonderful asset, not only to <br /> motorists, but to the entire public oP Indiana. <br /> Mr: Noblet then announced that the business of the day would be taken <br /> up at onee and would be direeted by ��r. F. �. Schortemeier. �r. . <br /> Schortemeier then assuming the chair again reviewed the Uniform �t'raffic <br /> Code section by section. <br /> �fter Yurther consideration it was deeided to adopt the,proposed <br /> Uniform Code. Mr�. Sohortemeier stated that out of 460 towns in the <br /> State o� Indiana at least 50°� have no stty ordinanves, and not one , <br /> city in the State has anything to eompare with the proposed IIniform <br /> Traffic Code. � <br /> It was at this point that the representative �rom South Bend inform- <br /> ed Pdr. Schortmeier that our traffic code was complete in every respeot <br /> to the proposed Uniform Code and in some instances was more complete. <br /> �'��ter a short musical program, the meeting ad�ourned.
