Report �ras read and ordered placed on file. �,gr. udd instructed Sealer Burns to make rigid investigation of all ga oline pumps on account of rumors that short measure has been in pra tice for some time. On otion o� r:ir. Gadacz, second by r"r. Zong, �:�r. Burns was instru ted to raise the public seales rate from .10�` per ton to a minim o� .25� and .10;� thereafter. Downes was ordered to attend the Uniform Traffie Con�erence to be held in Indianapolis Tuesda , morning, June 17th, and was instructed to render a complete report upon his return. Noblet called on r:qayor J. s�1. �icCarty of ��ashington, who i s Vice-P esident of the I�,�nnicipal League. r�r. ��cCarty spoke brieYly on the efforts of P��unicipal I,eague, also praised the Hoosier Auto- mobile 1Lssoeiation Por their ef�orts in the past. He eondemned reckle s and drunken drivers, stating that the law governing same was to lenient. Chairman Noblet explained the proposed Uniform Traf�i Code and then introduced ��r. Rolly Benson, President oP the In�ian Associa tion of Chie�s of Police. b'r. Benson gave his views on TTniform CQ�atrol and stated that in his op nion it would be a great asset to the State of Ind.iana, tha.t it wou d not only be more convenient for the motorists, but cvould decrea e the violation of �raffic rules.
