2,471, <br />Officers Rozanski and-Rourke made a report of an accident on <br />November 21st when at about 6:00 P. M. a call of fire was received <br />at1the Broadway gate of the Studebaker Plant. In Car #2 they <br />responded to this call and at the intersection.of Western Avenue and <br />LaFayette Street, with siren blowing, it was impossible to prevent an <br />accident to a car that did not seem to heed the siren and struck a <br />Ford Model T Sedan belonging to Fred Huff, R. R. 2,.Box 287. The <br />impact destroyed troyed tail light, bent the left rear fender and damaged the <br />rim of the left rear wheel. A claim has been presented by Fred Huff <br />for 410.35 to repair the damage. This matter, after being discussed, <br />was referred to the City Attorney. <br />A commulAcation,was received from Cyrus E. Pattee, calling <br />at-tention,to'dangerous situation at the corner of Olive Street and <br />.We ; atern Avenue on account of the absence of a traffic signal. After <br />considering the matter, the communication was ordered placed on file.. <br />A communication was received from John B. Campbell,, President of <br />""the Campbell Box and Tag Company, also Mr. E. L. McMillen, Chief of <br />the Studebaker Company Plant.Protection, calling attention to traffic <br />''-hazard at Sample and Main Streets, particularly from 4:30 to 5:00 <br />e clock in the evening when Studebaker employees are leaving for their <br />homes. The Board, in discussing this matter, felt that-Main Street <br />should be a preferential street and that the Police Department probably <br />could supervise traffic at the.time mentioned. The matter was, therefore, <br />referred to the Chief of Police. <br />A special police commission in favor of Charles Rost while <br />employed at the Edwards Iron Works, accompanied by surety bond in the <br />amount of $1,000.00 in the Maryland pasu<y Company, was approved by <br />the Board. <br />Special police commission in favor of Edward G. Daoust while <br />employed at the Robertson Brothers Company, accompanied by surety bond <br />in the Maryland Casualty Company, was approved by the Board. <br />The meeting adjourned at 11:45 A.
