Lane and he will cooperate with you to relieve the situation, <br />and you will no doubt hear from him very shortly if he has not already <br />called you regarding the matter." <br />The question of traffic conditions and lighting of intersections <br />was fully discussed with Mr. Qualls and the following particularly were <br />considered: Chapin Street and Western Avenue, Bronson and Michigan <br />Streets and William Street and Lincoln stay West. Mr. Qualls advised <br />that the traffic lights at these points were not of the best type, and <br />the Board instructed him to make the necessary improvements at once, in <br />view of, the many accidents, that have_b`een reported, particularly at <br />Bronson Street and William Street. <br />Mr. Qualls was delegated to make a survey of as many locations in <br />the City as he felt required attention because of darkness, due to <br />absence of street lights and to report to the Board at the next regular. <br />meeting. <br />POLICE DEPARTMENT - Chief Lane present: <br />Matters pertaining to the Police Department were discussed and the <br />Chief was instructed to have his Night Officers make reports daily on <br />street lights which are out, so,that proper credit be given the City on <br />its monthly bill and that through the Electrical Department these lights <br />may be turned on. <br />Police application was received:from Albert.Earl Palmer and ordered <br />placed on file. <br />Mr. Weer reported that in the neighborhood of 28th and 29th Streets, <br />from Pleasant Street to the St. Joseph River, complaints had been made <br />that rubbish was being dumped in gravel pits in -that vicinity. He stated <br />that "No Dumping" signs had been ordered placed there and that the lots <br />had been cleaned off and filled in by V.P.A. workers but that after this <br />had been done the dumping had been continued.and that the Police should <br />be instructed to observe these, violations. The Chief of Police was <br />instructed to look after this. <br />'Mr. Ignatz Mittermeyer again.was present at the Board to ascertain <br />what action the Board intended to take with reference to parking on <br />Indiana Avenue. The Board advised him that no action would be taken <br />until an agreement had been reached by all interested parties in that - <br />vicinity. <br />The meeting ad j ouraed a.t 11:00 A.
