-- _ MEET -ING June 17 , 1935 <br />Regular meeting of'the Board of.Public Safety was held on Monday, <br />Tune 17, 19351-at 8 :30 A. M. All members were present. <br />The minutes of regular meeting <br />Requisitions bearing numbers 0! <br />Claims in the amount of 10.78 from <br />ordered paid: <br />A. G. Meier & Company <br />J. W. Wertz & Son <br />Radio Distributing Co. <br />of June 10th were read and approved., <br />3513 to 08524 inclusive were.approvedo <br />the following suppliers were approved,and <br />$3.00 <br />6.23 <br />1.55 <br />ELECTRICAL DEPARTMENT - Mr. Qualls present: <br />Matters pertaining to the operation of the Electrical Department were <br />discussed. The question of operating all stop lights in the City when an alarm <br />of fire is sounded was taken up with Mr. Qualls and discussed. Mr. Qualls was <br />_ instructed to investigate the possibility of turning all stop lights in the <br />downtown section red while fire departments are travelling streets to a fire and <br />to make a report at the next meeting of the Board. <br />The Board took up with Mr. Qualls the question of timing -all stop and go <br />lights in the City, as there had been some complaints that the interval beten <br />changes was not properly timed to obtain the best movement of traffic through- <br />out the City. Mr. Qualls was asked to investigate the matter thoroughly and <br />make a report at the next meeting of the Board. <br />Mr. Qualls submitted a bid from John Beyrer & Sons for the new roof on the <br />Alarm Station, and the Secretary was instructed to secure bids from other Roofers <br />and present to the Board at its next meeting. <br />Mr. Qualls submitted a report for the month of May of fire alarms handled <br />and comparisons of the same month for the last ten years. Report is on file. <br />FIRE DEPARTMENT - Chief Freeh present: <br />Decision in reference to repair of the floor at No. 10 Fire Station and <br />the lockers which were requested for the firemen at No. 4 Fire Station was <br />postponed until further investigation could be made. <br />In regard to the drinking fountain the Chief requested for the Central Fire <br />Station, this was authorized by the Board if the fountain which is intended to <br />be used is found to be a*= practical after investigation by Mr. Anderson, and <br />r if the cost is not too great. <br />1 <br />
