REGULAR14EETING <br />Regular meeting of the-Board Of Public Safety was called to order by <br />Chairman Hunter at 6:30 A. M., Monday, February 11,,.1935. All members <br />present. <br />Minutes of meeting of February 4th were read and approved. <br />Requisitions bearing the following numbers were approved: 8223 to <br />8240 and 8028. <br />Also claims in the amount of $1303.97 as follows: <br />G. The Chief brought <br />up the question of recovery of drowning or drowned persons in the river <br />and requested per-,--.ission to turn that work back to the Police Depart- <br />ment where it had been done until the World's Fair when traffic duty <br />was very heavy. The Board suggested that he confer with Chief Lane <br />regarding the matter. <br />ELECTRICAL DEPARTMENT - Wm. Qualls present. <br />Matters pertaining to his department were discussed particularly the <br />rules of tbe Electrical commission on the regulations of the Fire <br />alarm syst'em. No action was taken. <br />POLICE DEPARTT-4ENT - Chief Lane present. <br />If was moved, seconded and carried that the Police Department be <br />instructed in all cases when accidents occur to get the following infor- <br />mation which is necessary for the proper prosecution of the cases: <br />Name of Witnesses <br />Name of company if an industrial vehicle <br />Any distinguishing numbers on truck <br />Number of State license and name of the State <br />Name of driver <br />All information.obtainable regdrding the nature <br />of the accident. <br />The matter of signal at Lincoln Way West and William St. again discussed <br />and action postponed until a later meeting. <br />The Mayflower Trucking Co, incident .was taken up with Chief Lane, _also <br />the Western Ave. and Olive St. accident as the evidence obtained was <br />insufficient to secure a favorable disposition. <br />The matter of consolidating the garage work of the police department <br />with that of the Water Works and the employment of a skilled mechanic <br />was discussed and it was decided another conference of the affected <br />departments was necessary before definite action could be taken. <br />The question brought up by Fire Chief Freeh regarding river recoveries <br />and action was deferred, pending further investigation and a conference <br />between the Chiefs of the Police and Fire Departments. <br />11 - <br />1 <br />
