<br />AWARD BID AND APPROVE PURCHASE AGREEMENT — SALE OF CITY OWNED
<br />PROPERTY — 209 S MEADE STREET
<br />Mr. Andrew Netter, Community Investment, advised the Board that on May 8, 2018, bids were
<br />received and opened for the above referenced property. After reviewing those bids, Mr. Netter
<br />recommended that the Board award the property to the sole, responsive bidder, and adjacent
<br />property owner, Israel Calderon, 213 S. Meade Street, South Bend, IN 46619, in the amount of
<br />$821.00. Also presented at this time was the Purchase Agreement for this property. Therefore,
<br />Ms. Maradik made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and the bid be awarded as
<br />outlined above and the Purchase Agreement be approved. Ms. Dorau seconded the motion,
<br />which carried.
<br />RATIFY AWARD OF QUOTATION — SOUTH BEND POLICE DEPARTMENT FORENSIC
<br />LAB UPGRADE (POLICE GENERAL FUND
<br />Mr. Chris Voros, Police Department, advised the Board that on December 12, 2017, quotations
<br />were received and opened for the above referenced project. After reviewing those quotations,
<br />Mr. Voros recommended that the Board award the contract to the lowest responsive and
<br />responsible bidder, Ziolkowski Construction, Inc., 4050 Ralph Jones Drive, South Bend, IN
<br />46628, in the amount of $32,398. Therefore, Ms. Maradik made a motion that the
<br />recommendation be accepted and the quotation be awarded as outlined above. Ms. Dorau
<br />seconded the motion, which carried.
<br />AWARD QUOTATION — BOWMAN CREEK IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT NO 118 017
<br />(SEWER CONTRACTUAL)
<br />Mr. Scott Kreeger, Engineering, advised the Board that on May 22, 2018, quotations were
<br />received and opened for the above referenced project. After reviewing those quotations, Mr.
<br />Kreeger recommended that the Board award the contract to the lowest responsive and
<br />responsible bidder, Selge Construction Co., Inc., 2833 S. IIth Street, Niles, MI 49120, in the
<br />amount of $97,475. Therefore, Ms. Maradik made a motion that the recommendation be
<br />accepted and the quotation be awarded as outlined above. Ms. Dorau seconded the motion,
<br />which carried.
<br />AWARD QUOTATION — RUM VILLAGE DOG PARK CONSTRUCTION (2015 PARK
<br />BOND)
<br />Mr. Patrick Sherman, Venues, Parks, and Arts, advised the Board that on May 22, 2018,
<br />quotations were received and opened for the above referenced project. After reviewing those
<br />quotations, Mr. Sherman recommended that the Board award the contract to the lowest
<br />responsive and responsible bidder, R. Yoder Construction, Inc., PO Box 69, Nappanee, IN
<br />46550, in the amount of $120,405 for the Base Quote plus Alternate Nos. 1 and 5. Therefore,
<br />Ms. Maradik made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and the quotation be awarded
<br />as outlined above. Ms. Dorau seconded the motion, which carried.
<br />AWARD QUOTATION — MORRIS LED PANEL TRIMS (VPA CAPITAL)
<br />Mr. Patrick Sherman, Venues, Parks, and Arts, advised the Board that on May 22, 2018,
<br />quotations were received and opened for the above referenced project. After reviewing those
<br />quotations, Mr. Sherman recommended that the Board award the contract to the lowest
<br />responsive and responsible bidder, Burkhart Sign Systems, 1247 Mishawaka Avenue, South
<br />Bend, IN 46615, in the amount of $3,390. Therefore, Ms. Maradik made a motion that the
<br />recommendation be accepted and the quotation be awarded as outlined above. Ms. Dorau
<br />seconded the motion, which carried.
<br />AWARD QUOTATION — CHARLES BLACK CENTER EXERCISE EQUIPMENT (2015
<br />PARK BOND)
<br />Mr. Patrick Sherman, Venues, Parks, and Arts, advised the Board that on May 22, 2018,
<br />quotations were received and opened for the above referenced project. After reviewing those
<br />quotations, Mr. Sherman recommended that the Board award the contract to the lowest
<br />responsive and responsible bidder, Direct Fitness Solutions, 3293 Kellygreen Drive, Angola, IN
<br />46703, in the amount of $53,067.30. Mr. Sherman noted that Direct Fitness submitted both
<br />quotes received but their lowest quote was non -responsive to the specifications. Therefore, Ms.
