Continued. <br />The placing of aXelectric light on South Scott Street at Blanche St. <br />the same was reported unfavorable by the Street Commissioner, as the petition does not <br />call for a light at the proper corner. There being one a snort block away. <br />The placing of a light at the cornerof Miner & Eddy Street was <br />reported unafavorable by the Street Commissioner. There being one light a block away. <br />The same was placed on file. <br />Communication received in regard. to a petition f,0.1ed in December <br />,/1914 for a street light at the corner of Madison- and Walsh Streets. The same was read <br />and referred to the Street Commissioner. <br />In regard to petition filed by Elmer D Rex on April 21st.,1914 for cross -walks, the <br />follosi ng report: ,A,=as filed. by the Street Commissioner. <br />Board of. Public Works. <br />Gentlemen:- While the enclosed petition is true. Not only the N.W. cor. <br />of Leer and Calvert and the S. W. cor. of Leer & Indiana but a 1 four corners at each <br />intersection should be done at the same time to save expense. Some of the other corners <br />such as at N. E. cor of Leer & Ca:lvert has no grade or sidewalk to connect to. Sidewalk <br />line would have to be established etc. <br />D. C. The reason, there being two lights, one bloek.ea.ch ti'ay. <br />Engineer filed assessment roll and final estimate for Dater Colwzections <br />on St. Louis Street Boulevard from South Bend Avenue to Corby Street, under Improvement <br />Resolution No. 299. In the City of South Bend, Indiana. <br />Resolved, that notices as to the amounts of assessments be publsshed <br />for six consecutive days in the South Bend Daily Tribune, commencing on the llth.. day of <br />May,1914 stating thatthis Board ill give a hearing on the amoutt of such assessment at its <br />office in the City Mall on the 26th., day of May,1914 at 7:45 P.M. <br />Resolved further, that the entire work under the above contract be ace <br />cepted and approved and the final estimate thereon allowed. Notice of this resolution <br />shall be published on the llth., day of May,1914 in the South Bend Daily Tribune, stating <br />that this Board will give a hearing on the acceptance of such work at its office in the <br />City Hall on the 26th. , day of May,1914. at 7:45 P.M. <br />The Board instructed the Clerk to, prepare a resolution and set for hearing <br />✓ for a pavement on South Lafayette Street from the Lake Shore & Michigan Southern Ry. <br />right -of-way to Tutt Street. <br />In the matter of ahearing on the Pavement on Sherman Avenue from Michigan <br />Avena.e to south end of said Street, under improvement resolution No. 301. All <br />action on the same was deferred until Tuesday May 19th. ,1914. at 7:45 P.M. <br />The Board approved of the following complaint and ordered a thirty day <br />Notice served , under Improvement Resolution No. 294. for the construction of sideways on <br />Various Street, in the City of South Bend, Indiana. <br />Defective sidewalk at corner of Fellow Street and Indiana Ave. Street <br />Commissioner reported on same as follows. <br />Sidewalk on Indiana Avenue between Carroll and Fellow Streets in three <br />or four places is heaved up and broken, by Carolina poplars tree roots. <br />The Board of Public Works of the City of Mishawaka, Indiana met with the <br />Board in a joint meeting in regard to the water and sewer situation on Nineteenth Street. <br />L iav <br />The City Civil Engineer was instructed by the Board to prepare new speci- <br />ficatioris for manhole tops and covers. <br />The Board ordered the Chicago, South Bend & Northern Indiana Ry.
