228 <br />Friday January 16th.,1914. <br />Board met in regular session at 10:00 A.M. All members present. <br />Mr. Christian Wenger appeared before the Board in the interest of the <br />+� Petitioners asking; for the construction of a pavement on Pennsylvania Avenue. <br />" 'Mr. Otis Romine appeared before the Board in the interest of the Williams <br />f Street extention. City Engineer ordered ro submit a list of the property to be taken <br />and report the same to the Board. <br />The following petition received from the American Telephone and Telegraph <br />Company and approved by the Board. <br />The Board of Public Works of <br />South Bend, Indiana. <br />Gentlemen: — <br />You will please enter this as a petition that permission be granted to the <br />American Telephone and Telegraph Company of Indiana to relocate one of its poles <br />bearing identifying Number 17601 and located at present on Northeast corner of alley <br />running Northeast corner of alley running North and south between Main and Michigan <br />Streets in City of South Bend, Indiana. <br />Above pole is located outside of curb line on above alley and permission <br />is asked to trench pole 5 feet east of present location and inside of curb line of <br />alley. , <br />Signed J.McLaughlin, Foreman for <br />The American Telephone & Telegraph Co. <br />Board ordered City Attorney to purchase An Act on Municipal Corporations <br />and Cities and Towns. <br />J A bid was received, opened and read on Grade, curb and walk on Lincoln <br />Street from Sample Street to the Grand Trunk Western Ry.,under Improvement"Resolution <br />291. The same was rejected by the Board. <br />Engineer submitted a list of petitions for street imp rovements,which <br />had been on file in the year of 1913. The Board ordered City Engineer to investigate <br />and report on the same. <br />I Petition for a street light on intersection of Corby Street and Notre- <br />DameAvenue filed with the Board on Tuesday January 13th.,1914 was reported unfavor— <br />ably on by the Street Commissioner. The same was rejected by the Board. <br />In the matter of advertising bids for grade, curb and walk on Dale <br />Avenue from Dayton Street to Botm.an Street,under Improvement Resolution No. 294, re— <br />solved that notices be published on the 17th. , day of January 1J14 and on t_ e 24th. , <br />day of January 1914 in the South Be -ad Daily Tribune stating that this Board will re— <br />ceive bids for the construction of said improvement up to 10:00 A.M. on the loth. , <br />day of February,1914 The Board reserves the right to reject any and all bids. <br />J In the matter of the readvertising of bids for the Pipe sewers on the <br />following streets. Parkovash Avenue from Iroquois Street to Lafayette Street, <br />under Improvement Resolution No. 259, Tonti Avenue from Iroquois Street to Lafayette <br />Strget,und.er Improvement Resolution No. 260, Eddy Street, Parry Street and Francis <br />Street, from -Mishawaka Avenue and'Eddy Street to the Grand Trunk Ry. Co's right of <br />way, under Improvement Resolution No. 262. Resolved that notices be published <br />on the 17th., day of January,1914 and on the 24th., day of January,1914 in the South <br />Bend Daily Tribune, stating that this Board will receive bids for the construction, <br />of said improvements up to 10:00 A.M. on the loth., day of February,1914. The <br />Board reserves the right to reject any and all bids. <br />
