REGULAR MEETING APRIL 24, 2018 122 HRP CONSTRUCTION, INC. 5777 Cleveland Road; PO Box 266 South Bend, IN 46624 Quotation was submitted by Matthew D. Cain QUOTATION: $128,000 Upon a motion made by Ms. Maradik, seconded by Ms. Dorau and carried, the above quotation was referred to Engineering for review and recommendation. After reviewing the quotation, Ms. Sue Ellen Doudrick, Engineering, recommended that the Board reject the quote and the project be re -quoted due to being over the budget. Ms. Kara Boyles, City Engineer, noted the quote was more than double the budget. Therefore, Ms. Maradik made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and the quotation be rejected to allow the project to be re -quoted. Ms. Dorau seconded the motion, which carried. OPENING AND AWARD OF QUOTATIONS — KELLY PARK BIKE RACK CONCRETE PAD (PARK BOND Mr. Gilot advised that this was the date set for the receiving and opening of sealed quotations for the above referenced project. The following quotation was opened and read: TX CONCRETE 24899 Fillmore Rd. South Bend, IN 46619 Quotation was submitted by Jose Lois Quijada QUOTATION: $1,795 The Board noted there were two different amounts on the written amount and the numerical amount. After further review, it was discovered the numerical amount was listed three (3) times. The Board determined the error was in the written portion. Attorney McDaniels stated it appeared to be an administrative error. Upon a motion made by Ms. Maradik, seconded by Ms. Dorau and carried, the above quotation was referred to Venues, Parks, and Arts for review and recommendation. After reviewing the quotation, Mr. Patrick Sherman, VPA, recommended that the Board award the contract to the sole responsive and responsible bidder, TX Concrete, in the amount of $1,795. Therefore, Ms. Maradik made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and the quotation be awarded as outlined above. Ms. Dorau seconded the motion, which carried. OPENING AND AWARD OF QUOTATIONS — 2017 RIVERSIDE SIDEWALK AND DRIVEWAY— PROJECT NO. 118-050 (MVH) Mr. Gilot advised that this was the date set for the receiving and opening of sealed Quotations for the above referenced project. The following Quotations were opened and read: PREMIUM CONCRETE SERVICES, INC. 712 Richmond St. Elkhart, IN 46516 Quotation was submitted by Max A. Yeakey QUOTATION: $5,965 TX CONCRETE 24899 Fillmore Rd. South Bend, IN 46614 QUOTATION: $2,224.40 Upon a motion made by Ms. Dorau, seconded by Ms. Maradik and carried, the above quotations were referred to Engineering for review and recommendation. After reviewing those quotations, Ms. Amy Kryston, Engineering, recommended that the Board award the contract to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, TX Concrete, in the amount of $2,224.40. Therefore, Ms. Maradik made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and the quotation be awarded as outlined above. Ms. Dorau seconded the motion, which carried.
