_6 continued from page 259. <br />South Bend, Ind- October 19, 1927. <br />To the Board of Public Safety, <br />South Bendy Indiana, <br />I herewith submit accusations and charges against <br />Patrolman John S 3neburg,- that said police officer has been <br />guilty of: Inexcusable neglect of-duty., in this: <br />That on October 16, 1927, the -said Officer John Stineburg, <br />together with Officer Lloyd J. Dodge were detailed•to the <br />Erskine Park Golf Course for the purpose of receiving from <br />the attendant there, money consisting of the receipts for <br />the business of Saturday, October 15th and Saunday, October <br />16th, and that after receiving the said receipts or money" <br />from the attendant, this officer, together with Officer <br />Lloyd J. Dodge, started toward the Police Headquarters for <br />the purpose of depositing the money with " the Desk Sergeant, <br />and that said Officer Stineburg and said Officer Dodge, <br />stopped at the office of Ralph Sollitt & Sons, 518 East <br />2 Sample Street... and both said Officers left the police car <br />on the street in front of the above mentioned officer, and <br />that both entered the officeand left the money unprotected <br />in the police car, and after remaining in said office for a <br />period of about ten minutes, they came out and the morkey had _ <br />disappeared from; the police .car. Officer Stineburg having <br />been intrusted, in. company with Officer Dodge, with the <br />protection of said money, failed in his trust and duty as <br />>> a police officer. <br />Respectfully submitted, and filed with he Clerk of the ' <br />i <br />Board of ,Safety, this 19th day of October 1927. <br />r <br />(Signed) James J. Dodge, <br />John Stineburg, Chief Hatt. <br />After the submission of all evidence the Board. went into executive <br />session to consider the evidence, . After due and careful consideration <br />of all the. evidence submitted _;the Board found the said Officers Lloyd <br />J. Dodge and John Stineburg,guilty as charged and thereupon d�sobafted <br />them from the 1p*Uee Department, <br />Attes#Clerk,,.Board of 'ublie Safety, es. bord or, Public Safety, <br />x; - <br />
