Councilmember Puzzello seconded <br />the motion which carried by a voice vote of nine (9) ayes. <br />BILL NO. 37-07 PUBLIC HEARING ON A BILL OF THE <br />COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SOUTH BEND, INDIANA AMENDING <br />ORDINANCE NO. 9672-06 ENTITLED <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE COMMON <br />COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH <br />BEND, INDIANA, AUTHORIZING THE <br />ACQUISITION AND INSTALLATION OF <br />CERTAIN IMPROVEMENTS TO THE <br />CITY'S SEWAGE WORKS, THE <br />ISSUANCE AND SALE OF <br />ADDITIONAL REVENUE BONDS TO <br />PROVIDE FUNDS FOR THE PAYMENT <br />OF THE COSTS THEREOF, AND THE <br />COLLECTION, SEGREGATION AND <br />DISTRICT OF THE REVENUES OF <br />SUCH SEWAGE WORKS AND OTHER <br />RELATED MATTERS <br />Councilmember Kuspa, Chairperson, Utilities Committee, reported that this committee <br />held a Public Hearing on this bill this afternoon and voted to send it to the full Council <br />with a favorable recommendation. <br />Mr. Charles Leone, City Attorney, 14~` Floor County-City Building, South Bend, Indiana, <br />made the presentation. <br />Mr. Leone advised that this bill would amend previously enacted Ordinance No. 9672-06 <br />which authorized sewage works improvements and the issuance of revenue bonds not to <br />exceed $56,380,000. The bonds authorized by Ordinance No. 9672-06 were sold to the <br />Indiana Bond Bank pursuant to the State Revolving Loan Program (SRF Program.) The <br />City has learned that certain amendments to the original ordinance are required which <br />relate to obtaining consent of the Indiana Finance Authority. <br />This being the time heretofore set for the Public Hearing on the above bill, proponents <br />and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard. <br />There being no one present wishing to speak to the Council either in favor of or in <br />opposition to this bill, Councilmember Dieter made a motion for favorable <br />recommendation to full Council concerning this bill.
