REGULAR MEETING JUNE 25, 2007 provide better access to Erskine Common and improve traffic circulation and safety at the connection of Main and Lafayette Streets between Ireland and Chippewa. This being the time heretofore set for the Public Hearing on the above bill, proponents and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard. There being no one present wishing to speak to the Council either in favor of or in opposition to this bill, Councilmember Varner made a motion for favorable recommendation to full Council concerning this bill. Councilmember Puzzello seconded the motion which carried by a voice vote of nine (9) ayes. BILL NO. 37-07 PUBLIC HEARING ON A BILL OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 9672-06 ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AUTHORIZING THE ACQUISITION AND INSTALLATION OF CERTAIN IMPROVEMENTS TO THE CITY'S SEWAGE WORKS, THE ISSUANCE AND SALE OF ADDITIONAL REVENUE BONDS TO PROVIDE FUNDS FOR THE PAYMENT OF THE COSTS THEREOF, AND THE COLLECTION, SEGREGATION AND DISTRICT OF THE REVENUES OF SUCH SEWAGE WORKS AND OTHER RELATED MATTERS Councilmember Kuspa, Chairperson, Utilities Committee, reported that this committee held a Public Hearing on this bill this afternoon and voted to send it to the full Council with a favorable recommendation. Mr. Charles Leone, City Attorney, 14~` Floor County-City Building, South Bend, Indiana, made the presentation. Mr. Leone advised that this bill would amend previously enacted Ordinance No. 9672-06 which authorized sewage works improvements and the issuance of revenue bonds not to exceed $56,380,000. The bonds authorized by Ordinance No. 9672-06 were sold to the Indiana Bond Bank pursuant to the State Revolving Loan Program (SRF Program.) The City has learned that certain amendments to the original ordinance are required which relate to obtaining consent of the Indiana Finance Authority. There being no one present wishing to speak to the Council either in favor of or in opposition to this bill, Councilmember Dieter made a motion for favorable recommendation to full Council concerning this bill. Councilmember Kuspa seconded the motion which carried by a voice vote of nine (9) ayes.
