REGULAR MEETING JUNE 25, 2007
property values may be affected by the rezoning. The required buffering and screening
will help to reduce any negative effects of this rezoning. It is responsible development
and growth to allow the in-fill commercial rezoning along existing commercial corridors.
Based on information available prior to the public hearing, the staff recommends that the
petition be sent to the Common Council with a favorable recommendation. The proposed
land use is compatible with the commercial uses to the west and north along U. S. 31.
The rezoning is a logical expansion within the U. S. 31 commercial area. Proper screening should
adequately buffer the adjacent residential areas to the east.
Mr. Clifford Hamilton, 20909 W.
