,, <br />~, <br />,~ <br />Zoning and Annexation Committee Meeting <br />2flfl7 South Bend Common Council <br />The April 2, 2007 meeting of the Zoning and Annexation Committee of the South Bend <br />Common Council was called to order by its Council President Timothy A. Rouse at 4:27 <br />p.m. in the Council's Informal Meeting Roam. <br />Persons in attendance included Council Members Rouse, Kelly, and Puzzello; Mayor <br />Assistant City Attorney Ann-Carol Nash; Building Commissioner Mark Lyons, Robert <br />Nemeth, Larry Magliozzi and Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand, Council Attorney. <br />Council President Rouse noted that since no committee members were present he <br />would go forward with the meeting for informational purposes. <br />Pro osed Text Amendments to the South Bend Zonin Ordinance: <br />Larry P. Magliozzi, Assistant Director of the Area Plan Commission then reviewed the <br />draft ordinance which would amend Chapter 21 of the South Bend Municipal Code <br />dated March 2$, 2007 {copy attached}.lt was noted that this is the 6~" ordinance to <br />clarify the master zoning ordinance since it was recently passed by the Council. Mr. <br />Magliozzi highlighted the following proposed changes: <br />Section I: Addresses corner lots <br />Section II: Addresses capacity of garages (would go from 3 to 4 vehicles) <br />Section 111: Would prohibit security wiring except for non-residential uses located in <br />residential districts <br />In response to a question from Council Member Puzzello, Mr. Fozo stated that a <br />resident could seek a variance fior a higher fence, rather than use security <br />wiring on a residential property. <br />Section IV: Addresses OB Office Buffer Districts which act as buffers and would <br />remedy integrated center language currently included <br />Section V: Addresses accessory building development standards far OB Office Buffer <br />Districts <br />Section Vl: Addresses MU Mixed Use <br />
