w= <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />JUNE 29, 1981 <br />Notice of this Resolution shall be published on the 3rd <br />& 10th days of July, 1981, in the South Bend Tribune and the <br />Tri- County News. <br />This Board, at its office, on the 20th day of July, 1981, <br />at 9:30 o'clock, A.M., will hear and receive remonstrances <br />from all persons interested in or affected by these proceedings. <br />Adopted this 29th day of June, 1981. <br />BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />s/ John E. Byers, Clerk <br />Mr. Leszczynski stated that the Engineering Department and Community <br />Development Department had submitted favorable reports for the <br />vacation of the above alley. It was noted that the Area.Plan <br />Commission report did not recommend the vacation of the alley <br />because of the potential access needed by adjacent residences. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and <br />carried, the reports were filed and Vacation Resolution No. 3510, <br />1981, was adopted and set for public hearing on July 20, 1981. <br />APPROVE ELIMINATION OF PARKING AND TEMPORARY TRAILERS <br />AT MEMORIAL HOSPITAL SITE (SOLLITT CONSTRUCTION) <br />A request from Sollitt Construction Company to move two existing <br />office trailers from the corner of Main Street and Navarre to <br />the parking area on the north side of Navarre between Michigan <br />and Main, and provide for the elimination of parking on the north <br />side of Navarre, for the duration of the Radiology renovation at <br />Memorial Hospital (approximately June 30, 1981, to January 1, 1982) <br />was recommended favorably by the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, <br />subject to the following restrictions: <br />1. All trailers will be kept 50 feet west of the <br />emergency entrance to the hospital and 40 feet <br />east of Main. <br />2. Sollitt will keep pedestrian traffic open along <br />the trailers during the duration of the job, and, <br />at the same time, will open the remainder of <br />Main Street along the east side to both pedestrian <br />and vehicular traffic. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and <br />carried, the request was approved and the matter referred to the <br />Building Department for the issuance of the appropriate permit <br />for the trailers. <br />FILING OF ASSESSMENT ROLL AND PLANS, AND ADOPTION OF IMPROVEMENT <br />RESOLUTION NO. 3509, 1981 (ALLEY PAVING, HARTER HEIGHTS 2ND ADDITION) <br />The Bureau of Design and Administration, in response to a petition <br />submitted by property owners for the grading and paving of the <br />east -west alley between Angela Boulevard and Pokagon Street, running <br />from St. Joseph Street to Foster Street, presented to the Board a <br />preliminary assessment roll, estimate and plans for the project. <br />Mr. Leszczynski noted that the total cost of the improvement was <br />estimated at $9,569.89. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, <br />seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the preliminary assessment roll, <br />estimate and plans for the project were filed and the following <br />Improvement Resolution was adopted and a public hearing on the <br />proposed Improvement Resolution set for July 13, 1981: <br />1 <br />1 <br />
