REGULAR MEETING WHEREAS, the City of South Bend personnel of the Transportation Department, Street Department, Water Works and other departments labored throughout the night hours until daylight to isolate the flood which prevented water from seriously damaging nearby properties; and JUNE 29, 1981 WHEREAS, it was necessary for the department workers to remove an estimated 4,000 square feet of damaged street pavement and replace new road bed; and WHEREAS, the quick response by the City of South Bend and these individuals involved adverted what could have been a major catastrophe including the flooding of many business establishments throughout the vicinity of the rupture. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that we who are assembled on this date offer our sincere thanks to all City of South Bend personnel involved with stemming the flood and repair of the surface. For their speedy action, we offer our sincere and heartfelt thanks for a job well done. DOWNTOWN SOUTH BEND COUNCIL s/ Nelson Abrahams, President Dated this 24th day of June, 1981. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the resolution was accepted and referred to the bureaus involved along with the Board's thanks for the work performed. FILING OF REPORTS AND ADOPTION OF VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 3510, 1981 (LOUIE'S TUX SHOP) VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 3510, 1981 RESOLVED BY THE.BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, That it is desirable to vacate the following: The first alley south of Lincolnway West, running westerly from Chapin Street (inner belt) to Cushing Street, excepting the north - south alley right -of -way; the west 119' more or less being in Heintzman's Addition and the east 300' more or less being in Kunstman's First Addition to the City of South Bend. Reserving the rights and easements of all Utilities and the Municipal City of South Bend, Indiana, to construct and maintain any facilities, including, but not limited to, the following: electric, telephone, gas, water, sewer, surface water control structures and ditches, within the vacated right - of -way, unless such rights are released by the individual Utilities. The following property may be injuriously or beneficially affected by such vacation: Lots 1 through 11 in Kunstman's lst Addition, and Lots 4 and 5 in Heintzman's Addition.
