REGULAR MEETING <br />JANUARY 26, 1981 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at <br />9:35 a.m., on Monday, January 26, 1981, by President John E. <br />Leszczynski, with Mr. Leszczynski, Mr. Richard L. Hill and Mr. <br />Joseph E. Kernan present. Deputy City Attorney Terry A. Crone was <br />also present. <br />MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING APPROVE <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and <br />carried, the minutes of the January 19, 1981, regular meeting of <br />the Board were approved as submitted. <br />AGENDA ITEMS ADDED <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Hill, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and <br />carried, the following items were added to the agenda immediately <br />following the request for a ceremony for the returning 52 American <br />hostages: <br />1. Extension of lease with Omniplex Center for storage <br />of equipment and vehicles by Discovery Hall. <br />2. Renewal of lease with Michiana Regional Warehouse <br />for sand and salt storage by Street Department. <br />3. Approval of contract with Monarch Industrial Towel <br />and Uniform Rental for uniform rental as bid and <br />awarded on Janaury 5, 1981. <br />4. Acceptance of Warranty Deed from Ivy Tech Foundation <br />for land acquired for Sample Street widening. <br />OPENING OF BIDS - GASOLINE AND FUEL OIL <br />This was the date set for receiving bids for gasoline, gasohol and <br />fuel oil for the year 1981. The Clerk tendered proofs of publica- <br />tion of notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri- County News <br />which were found to be sufficient. The following bids were opened <br />and publicly read: <br />Renco Oil Corp. Bid was signed by Rick E. Newman, <br />604 S. Scott Street non - collusion affidavit was in order, <br />South Bend, Indiana and a Treasurer's check in the amount <br />of $14,000.00 was submitted. <br />No. 1 - 70,000 gal. Reg. gasoline (tankwagon) $1.084 <br />No. 2 - 50,000 gal. Lead -free gasoline (tankwagon) 1.120 <br />Deputy Attorney Terry Crone advised that a second bid from Renco Oil <br />Corp. for additional gasoline and fuel oil was not signed properly. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Hill, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and <br />carried, the second bid was rejected because the non - collusion <br />affidavit was not signed. <br />Circle Oil Corporation Bid was signed by John W. Doster, <br />2020 W. 6th Street non - collusion affidavit was in <br />Mishawaka, Indiana order, and an Irrevocable Letter <br />of Credit was submitted. <br />No. 1 - 550,000 gal. Reg. gasoline (transport- 480,000 gal.) $1.051 <br />(tankwagon- 70,000 gal.) 1.091 <br />No. 2 - 650,000 gal. Unleaded gasoline (transport - 600,000 gal.) $1.092 <br />(tankwagon -as required) 1.132 <br />1 <br />1 <br />
