REGULAR MEETLNG JANUARY 5, 1981 A regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened. at 9:30 a.m., on Monday, January 5, 1981, by City Engineer John E. Leszczynski, with Mr. Leszczynski and Mr. Joseph E. Kernan present. Deputy City Attorney Terry A. Crone was also present. MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING APPROVED Upon a motion made by Mr. Kernan, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the minutes of the regular meeting of December 29, 1980, were approved as submitted. AGENDA ITEMS ADDED Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Kernan and carried, the following items were added to the agenda immediately following approval of .,the bid recommendations: 1. Final Change Order and Project Completion Affidavit for Rieth -Riley Construction Company for the Sample Street Widening Project. 2. Recommendation regarding the counter -offer of Mrs. Mary Schaar in the amount of $250.00 for a city - owned lot located at 1819 S. Kendall Street. OPENING OF BIDS CURB AND STREET IMPROVEMENTS" (S FELLOWS STREET) This was the date set for receiving bids for the construction of street and curb on South Fellows Street from Walter Street to 150 feet south of Barbie Street. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri- County News which were found to be sufficient. The following bids were opened and publicly read: Rieth -Riley Construction Co P. 0. Box 1775 South Bend, Indiana $43,059.75 Walsh & Kelly, Inc. 24358 State Road 23 - South Bend,, Indiana $40,158.00 Ziolkowski Construction, Inc. P. 0. Box 1106 South Bend, Indiana $51,328.50 LaFree Excavating, Inc. 11252 West Third Street Osceola, Indiana $41,693.00 Arco Engineering Construction 705 S. Beiger Street Mishawaka, Indiana $44,069.95 Bid was signed by Richard D. Ruhlman, non - collusion was in order, and a bid'bond in the amount of 5% of the bid was submitted. Bid was signed by Thomas 0. Walsh, non - collusion affidavit was in order, and a bid bond in the amount of 5% of the bid was submitted. Bid was signed by Ben Ziolkowski, non - collusion affidavit was in order, and a bid bond in the amount of 5% of the bid was submitted. Bid was signed by Richard LaFree, non- collusion affidavit was in order, and a bid bond in the amount of 5% of the bid was submitted.
