REGULAR MEETING Monarch Industrial Laundry 812 N. Wilber South Bend, Indiana DECEMBER 29, 1980 Bid was signed by Robert P. Shultz, non - collusion affidavit was in order, and a certified check in the amount of $10,408.52 was submitted. Group I - $1.92 ea. Group II - 4.79 ea. Group III - 1.18 ea. Group IV - .96 ea. Group V - 6.70 ea. Total Two -Year Cost: $104,085.28 Upon a motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Kernan and carried, the above bids were referred to the Controller's Office for review and recommendation. Deputy City Attorney Terry Crone advised that the bid of Ziker Cleaning and Laundry, 251 East Sample Street, South Bend, was incomplete in that the proper bid security had not been submitted, the non - collusion affidavit had not been signed and the bid itself was not signed in the proper place. Upon a motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Kernan and carried, the bid of Ziker Cleaning and Laundry was rejected. OPENING OF BIDS - TOWING AND STORAGE OF ABANDONED VEHICLES This was the date set for receiving bids for the towing and storage of abandoned vehicles. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri- County News which were .found to be sufficient. The following bids were opened and publicly read: Steve & Gene's Auto /Truck Salvage and Repairs 3109 South Gertrude South Bend, Indiana Storage of abandoned vehicles: $750.00 per month Raymond R. Bradford 1518 Catalpa Street South Bend, Indiana Towing of abandoned vehicles: $ 40.00 per month Mr. McMahon noted that the specifications called for separate bids, one for the towing of abandoned vehicles and one for the storage of the vehicles towed. Upon a motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Kernan and carried, the above bids were referred to the Controller's Office, Legal Department and Neighborhood Code Enforce- ment Office for review and recommendation. APPROVE ASSESSMENT ROLL - VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 3500, 1980 (JACKSON STREET) This being the date set, hearing was held on the Assessment Roll with respect to Vacation Resolution No. 3500, 1980, for the vacation of Jackson Street from Prairie Avenue north to the first east -west alley north of Prairie Avenue. The Clerk tendered proofs of publi- cation of notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri- County News which were found to be sufficient. The Assessment Roll lists $0.00 net benefits and $0.00 net damages to abutting properties. No remonstrators were present and no written remonstrances were -filed with the Board. Upon a motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Kernan and carried, the Assessment Roll was approved and said resolution is in all things ratified and confirmed and said proceedings closed. 1 u
