REGULAR MEETING DECEMBER 29. 1980 A regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at 9:30 a.m., on Monday, December 29, 1980, by President Patrick M. McMahon, with Mr. McMahon and Mr. Joseph E. Kernan present. Deputy City Attorney Terry A. Crone was also present. MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETINGS APPROVED Upon a motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Kernan and carried, the minutes of the regular meeting of December 15, 1980, and the special meeting of December 18, 1980, were approved as submitted. PRESENTATION OF PROCLAMATION TO BOARD PRE'S`IDENT McMAHON Mayor Roger 0. Parent presented Board President McMahon with a proclamation expressing appreciation for his work as President of the Board of Public Works since 1977. He publicly thanked Mr. McMahon for his achievements and accomplishments while serving as the Board's president. Mr. Hill was not present at the meeting but submitted a letter of appreciation to Mr. McMahon. Mr. John Leszczynski, City Engineer, will assume the duties of the Board President effective January 1 1981. OPENING OF BIDS - JANITORIAL SERVICES (POLICE DEPARTMENT) This was the date set for receiving bids for janitorial services at the Police Department for the coming year. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri- County News which were found to be sufficient. The following bids were openend and publicly read: Maintenance Systems Corp. 203 E. Mishawaka Avenue Mishawaka, Indiana $16,476.00 Associated Cleaning Service 101 JMS Building South Bend, Indiana $16,354.56 Bid was signed by Richard W. Johnson, non - collusion affidavit was in order, and a certified check in the amount of $900.00 was submitted. Bid was signed by Thomas E. Raffier, non- collusion affidavit was in order, and a certified check in the amount of $817.73 was submitted. OPENING OF BIDS - RENTAL OF UNIFORMS FOR VARIOUS BUREAUS This was the date set for receiving bids for the rental of uniforms for various bureaus. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri- County News which were found to be sufficient. The following bids were opened and publicly read: Means Services, Inc. 3701 Progress Drive South Bend, Indiana Group I - $2.20 Group II - 5.50 Group III - 1.10 Group IV - 1.10 Group V - 3.50 Total Two -Year Cost: Swank Uniform Rental 1101 King Street South Bend, Indiana Group I - $1.95 Group II - 4.89 Group III - 1.16 Group IV - .95 Group V - 6.31 Total Two -Year Cost: Bid was signed by Robert B.
