REGULAR MEETING <br />DECEMBER 29. 1980 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at <br />9:30 a.m., on Monday, December 29, 1980, by President Patrick M. <br />McMahon, with Mr. McMahon and Mr. Joseph E. Kernan present. Deputy <br />City Attorney Terry A. Crone was also present. <br />MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETINGS APPROVED <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Kernan and carried, <br />the minutes of the regular meeting of December 15, 1980, and the <br />special meeting of December 18, 1980, were approved as submitted. <br />PRESENTATION OF PROCLAMATION TO BOARD PRE'S`IDENT McMAHON <br />Mayor Roger 0. Parent presented Board President McMahon with a <br />proclamation expressing appreciation for his work as President of <br />the Board of Public Works since 1977. He publicly thanked Mr. <br />McMahon for his achievements and accomplishments while serving <br />as the Board's president. Mr. Hill was not present at the meeting <br />but submitted a letter of appreciation to Mr. McMahon. Mr. John <br />Leszczynski, City Engineer, will assume the duties of the Board <br />President effective January 1 1981. <br />OPENING OF BIDS - JANITORIAL SERVICES (POLICE DEPARTMENT) <br />This was the date set for receiving bids for janitorial services <br />at the Police Department for the coming year. The Clerk tendered <br />proofs of publication of notice in the South Bend Tribune and the <br />Tri- County News which were found to be sufficient. The following <br />bids were openend and publicly read: <br />Maintenance Systems Corp. <br />203 E. Raffier, <br />non- collusion affidavit was in order, <br />and a certified check in the amount <br />of $817.73 was submitted. <br />OPENING OF BIDS - RENTAL OF UNIFORMS FOR VARIOUS BUREAUS <br />This was the date set for receiving bids for the rental of uniforms <br />for various bureaus. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of <br />notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri- County News which were <br />found to be sufficient.
